ISO/IEC 27001 requires an organisation to manage information-security risk systematically. Technical controls matter, but governance, people, suppliers, assets, change, incident response and evidence are equally important.

What makes an ISMS auditable
An ISO/IEC 27001 system needs more than a set of cybersecurity policies. Auditors expect a defined ISMS scope, information-security risk assessment, risk treatment decisions, a Statement of Applicability, evidence that selected controls operate, performance monitoring, internal audit, management review and continual improvement.

Is ISO/IEC 27001 only for technology companies?
No. Any organisation that needs to manage information-security risk can use an ISMS, including professional services, engineering, manufacturing and organisations handling customer data.
What is a Statement of Applicability?
It is a core ISMS document that records the organisation’s decisions about the Annex A controls and the justification for inclusion or exclusion in the context of risk treatment.
Can AvantVero perform penetration testing?
AvantVero’s role is focused on the management system. Where deep technical testing is required, that work should be performed by appropriately qualified technical specialists and incorporated into the ISMS evidence.
